What is Vozla?
Vozla is a small iOS app that teaches European Portuguese (Lisbon dialect) at the A1 beginner level. Version 1.0 ships with 100 survival-level words, Lisbon-accented audio, daily quizzes, and a visual progress wall.
How is Vozla different from Duolingo?
Vozla focuses on one thing: helping you internalize 100 A1 Portuguese words with the actual Lisbon accent. There are no streaks, no leaderboards, no gems. Just daily audio, quick quizzes, and a quiet wall of tiles you fill in as you learn.
Does Vozla teach Brazilian or European Portuguese?
European Portuguese only — specifically the Lisbon dialect. Every audio prompt is recorded by a native speaker from Portugal. If you are moving to or living in Portugal, this is the variant you need.
How much does Vozla cost?
Vozla is free for the first six months after launch. There are no ads and no tracking. Subscription pricing will be announced later in 2026, and the free tier will keep the core Learn experience accessible.
What devices does Vozla support?
Vozla v1.0 is an iOS app targeting iOS 17 and above. It runs on iPhone and supports the four launch locales: English, European Portuguese, Russian, and European Spanish.
Will there be more than 100 words?
Yes — v1.0 ships with the 100-word A1 starter set. Additional A1 content and the Nearby, Voices, and Friends features arrive in later updates. Your existing progress carries over.
